Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Mandi Hettinger, a member of the Softball team at Winamac School.

Mandi threw a no-hitter in a 12-0 Winamac win over Arch-rival West Central, then came back with 8 strikeouts in a 27-1 Midwest conference win over Tri-County, completing a stellar week in which she blasted 2 home runs and 11 RBIs as the Warriors got over the .500 mark.

On the season, the freshman phenom has pitched 61 innings with an ERA of 2.50 and 68 strikeouts. She has also led her team at the plate batting over .600, including 22 hits, 5 home runs, and 16 RBIs.

An excellent student, Mandi this week also led her geometry team to a first place finish in the Midwest Conference math contest!

Mandi is the daughter of Michelle and Paul Hettinger.
