Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Mitch Reed, a member of the Football Team at Winamac High School.
Mitch helped lead a defensive effort that smothered the West Central Trojans in a 64-0 opening Sectional game victory over their arch rivals.
The 5-10, 175 pound linebacker had 10 tackles, 4 assists, 3 tackles for loss and forced a fumble as the Warriors went 10-0 on the season.
Not only was the veteran Senior effective on the defensive side of the ball, but helped offensively as well, carrying the ball 3 times for 14 yards and getting a pass reception for another 18 yards.
Mitch was named All-State at Linebacker as a Junior and was a pre-season All-Stater as a Senior. He will be featured on a future “Saturday Sportsline with Nathan Welter” on K99.3 and will have a featured picture and story on wkvi.com.
Congratulations to Mitch Reed of Winamac High School, our “Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week” .
