Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week 10-26-19
Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Adelaide Young Brust, a member of the Girls Cross Country team at South Central High School.
Adelaide advanced to the Cross Country Semi-State as an individual by running one of her best times of the year in the Chesterton Regional. Brust ran the challenging Sunset Hills Park course in 19:52.2, placing ninth overall in a field of more than one hundred. The race was the biggest highlight of a season filled with highlights for the veteran Junior. Adelaide took first place in all of the Satellites’ dual meets, placed second in the New Prairie Invitational, third in the Porter County Conference meet, as well as ninth in both the Sectional and Regional.
A member of the National Honor Society, Adelaide is also involved in Academic Super Bowl, Marching Band, Jazz Band, the International Thespian Society, the Lugar Series Net Generation program, her church youth group, and also runs track for the Satellites.
Adelaide is the daughter of Kirt and Jessica Young Brust.
