It’s the beginning of many things at Plymouth Speedway with the Cabin Fever event this weekend. Not only is it the first race of the season Saturday, April 23, it is the debut of the new state-of-the-art facility that many drivers and fans call home.
During the off-season, crews have been constructing new seating to enhance the dirt track experience at the biggest entertainment attraction in Northern Indiana known as the Playground of Power. The construction will be ongoing as the season progresses. The Plymouth Speedway crew members also built up the banking on the two racing tracks that will create more a competitive surface for the five classes of race cars.
Drivers in the UMP Modifieds, Wing Pro Sprints, Super Streets, Thunder Stocks and Non-Wing 600 Sprints will be racing for the coveted championship. Plymouth Speedway Owner Ed Kennedy notes that the champions will receive a championship ring and a chance to go on a relaxing cruise.
