Bremen’s Coffel selects Trine for Track

Maddy Coffel has signed a letter of intent to attend Trine University located in Angola, Indiana where she will study physical therapy and pre-med while competing in track for the Thunder.  As a junior, Maddy was named Most Valuable Performer in field events for Bremen High School where she competed in discus and long jump as well as the 200M dash.  In 2016, she was a key contributor on Bremen’s sectional championship track team, the first in school history.  Coffel is also a leg on the 400M relay team that currently owns the school record at a clip of 50.55 seconds.  In addition to track, Maddy was a regional qualifier in cross country and a 4-year letter winner in swimming.  Academically, Maddy is ranked in the top quarter of her class with a GPA of 3.34.  Congratulations Maddy!

Head Track Coach Mark Yoder stated, “I am extremely excited to see Maddy sign with Trine.  She is a dedicated student-athlete who has earned the opportunity to study and compete at the collegiate level.  Maddy has utilized her grit, an attention to detail, and a focus on proper training to achieve this.  She is a well-rounded athlete and will provide Trine with options for their team.  We will look for her positive leadership to guide the team this year as she completes her senior season.”
