Former Lion hoopster gets HOF honor from his former college

Belmont University Athletic Department announced its 2016 Induction Class for the Belmont University Athletic Hall of Fame, and 2000 BHS graduate Adam Mark, the son of Adrian & Lana Mark, will be one of the four inductees.

One of the most efficient interior players in the history of college basketball, Adam Mark rewrote the record books with his surgical post play. The Bremen, Indiana native led the nation in field goal percentage in 2002 (.708) and 2003 (.670), as a sophomore, becoming the first NCAAAdam Mark Division I player to shoot better than 70 percent from the field in a single season since 1991.  His career field goal percentage (.644) ranks first in Atlantic Sun Conference history and 16th all-time in NCAA Division I – ahead of the likes of Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) and Hakeem Olajuwon.  A two-time All-Atlantic Sun selection, Adam ranks fifth on the Bruins’ NCAA era scoring list with 1,574 points.  In the classroom, Adam was a three-time Academic All-American and two-time Atlantic Sun Male Student-Athlete of the Year.
