CMA grad makes the North roster in Football All-Star Game

Jake Young will be representing the Culver Military Academy Eagles one last time when he suits up for the North squad in the annual Indiana North/South All-Star Football Game Friday night. The game, sponsored by the Indiana Football Coaches Association, will be played at North Central High School, 1801 E. 86th St., Indianapolis. Start time is 7 p.m.

A three-year starter for the Eagles, Young was named to the Associated Press and Indiana Football Coaches Association’s All-State teams as a senior and junior. He also received the Eagles’ Most Valuable Player honors each year while playing on both sides of the ball as a tailback and inside linebacker. The Eagles won their second sectional title in history during his junior season. He was the Eagles’ defensive MVP as a sophomore.

As three-sport athlete, he earned letters in football, basketball, and baseball. He helped the Eagles win their second basketball sectional crown this past winter.

Graduating with a 3.55 GPA, Young will attend Indiana University on an ROTC scholarship. He is the son of James and Gina Young, Plymouth.
