Girls Bi-County Championship: Glenn pulls away from Culver to win tourny title

John Glenn Lady Falcons improved to 18-1 on the season thanks to a hard nosed performance in the 50th Annual T.C.U. Bi-County Basketball Tournament Championship game against Culver.

Glenn sophomore, Kyannah Stull, was solid for four quarters in the 48-37 win over the Lady Cavaliers of Culver.   She scored 19 points and having two free throw misses as the only blemish on her night.

“She is just a grinder out there.  She plays hard for four quarters and never lets up.  She had a big fourth quarter for us and really settled us down in moments of the game.  I think she got to the line 10 times and missed just two.”, said Glenn Coach Kyle Amor.

Glenn had a 24-17 lead at halftime over Culver.  But the Lady Cavs had a strong third quarter outscoring Glenn 14-7 pulling within one point heading into the fourth quarter.  One reason Culver got so close was the play of Lady Cav Senior, Mickella Hardy, who scored 8 of here 11 points in that quarter.

Glenn slowed the game down in the fourth quarter, from then on it was about limited possessions.   Here again, Kyannah Stull took over for Glenn by getting 11 points herself to assure the Lady Falcon win.

The Glenn victory was their first Bi-County title since 2005 out of 15 Championship appearances in their history.

Kyannah Stull was named Most Valuable Player of the Bi-County Tournament.2015-01-25_171853
