Ashley Burnett 5/16/15
Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Ashley Burnett a member of the girls track team at John Glenn High School.
Ashley broke the Falcons school record in the 3200 meter run in three consecutive meets, culminating in breaking the record by a full 14 seconds in the biggest meet of the year!
Ashley had set the record with a time of 12:11, then beat that with a time of 12:10, before running a 12:06. She then ran an astounding 11:52 in the Northern State Conference meet where she was the final 3200 meter Northern State Conference Champion.
An outstanding student, ashley is ranked 12th academically in her junior class and also plays basketball, soccer, and was also a Regional qualifier in cross country.
Ashley is the daughter of Cathy Burnett and Troy Hanyzewski.
