Plymouth suffers NLC loss to Memorial

By John Scott, AAD–The Plymouth Pilgrims played a rare matinee Saturday afternoon at The Rock and fell short against the Elkhart Memorial Crimson Chargers 61-51.  The Pilgrims got off to a very slow start trailing at one time early in the second quarter 19-5 before rallying.

The Pilgrims took the lead for the first time early in the second half when junior Cam Eveland hit a three pointer to put the Pilgrims up 34-33.  Memorial regained the lead at the end of the third quarter 42-40.

The Pilgrims took their final lead in the game midway through the fourth quarter 45-44 when junior Josh Anders made a pair of free throws.  Memorial then went on a 16-7 run to end the NLC contest.

Senior Tyler England finished with 15 points while Anders finished with 11.  With the loss, the Pilgrims finished 3-4 in the NLC  and 13-7 overall.

The Pilgrims finish their regular season Tuesday night at The Rock when they host the Glenn Falcons.  The senior Pilgrims will also be honored before the start of the varsity game.
