Boys B-ball: Triton dominates early in win over Caston

Both offense and defense was working well for Jason Groves and his Triton Trojans.  After dropping their last two performances against Northwood & Plymouth, Caston was a welcomed sight at the Trojan den.  Triton defeated Caston 53-27.

The first thing you realize when looking at the scoreboard is the 53 points scored by Triton.  But actually, it was the defensive effort by the Trojans that deserve the praise.

Triton only allowed single digit scoring each quarter to Caston.  They forced 20 Caston turnovers, outscoring the Comets 27-9 from those turnovers.  Triton also collected 7 steals in the ballgame.

The offense was a plenty, with three Trojan’s scoring 11 points, Mason Yeo, Austin Sellers, and Skylar Reichert.

Another “all-around” good performance will be needed Friday night when Triton travels to Mishawaka Marian.
