Girls b-ball Recap: Plymouth defeats Warsaw on the road

Coach Dave Duncan was looking for a more “get after it” mentality Saturday night following their first loss to SB Washington last week.  Duncan was not disappointed as his Lady Pilgrims defeated Warsaw at the Tigers Den, 41-26.

“I really wanted our girls to get off to a quick start and then settle in for the high percentage shots to control the pace of the game.  I think we did that early, outscoring them 12-2 early in the first quarter.  17-9 after one.”, said Coach Duncan.

Warsaw made some adjustments in the second quarter but Plymouth still managed a 12 point lead at one point of the second quarter, 10 by halftime at 23-13.

“I thought our defense was doing well forcing Warsaw to do things that takes them out of their game.  We kept forcing them to the corner and we took advantage of 12 first half turnovers by scoring 8 on them because of it.”, offered Duncan.

It was more of the same defensive consistency for Plymouth.  If it wasn’t Alli Wright’s defensive stealsl, it was Senior Haley Harrell taking away Warsaw possessions.   Wright finished with 3 steals, Harrell with four.

Plymouth also displayed how deep their bench play is outscoring Warsaw 12-6.

Haley Harrell led all Plymouth scorers with 10 pts…4 reb…..2 ast…..3 TO…..4 steals.

Plymouth now 8-1 will faced undefeated and 6th ranked in 3A, John Glenn on Tuesday. A game you can hear on SPORTSTOTHEMAX.NET.
