Plymouth Lady Golfers finish 6th

The Plymouth girls golf team finished sixth with a team total of 395 at the East Noble Invitational on Saturday.

The JV competed alongside the Varsity in a varsity exclusive field of 10 full squads and 11 schools.

The theme / goal of the day was playing up to our potential and improving within the round. Several players took steps forward today!

Senior Lauren Kolter lead the team with a career best 90. The putter was hot as she only needed 28 putts, also a career best.

Senior Nicole Horvath had flashes of great play today. Nicole improved 8 shots (45) on the tougher back nine! Not only was her 45 a personal best, her 98 was as well.

I was proud of our young varsity sophomores Julia Marohn 106 and Brittany Klotz 107 both recorded career low rounds. Julia was consistent all day shooting a 53 on both nines. Brittany Klotz beat her personal best nine hole score on the front by a shot albeit with a 10 on one hole. She improved three shots on the tougher back nine further besting her own mark!

Senior Katie Johnson started smooth and found trouble on the back. She rounded out our scoring with a 101.

Our JV gained valuable experience playing alongside varsity players on a Regional caliber golf course. Juniors Emily Cochern 117 and Mackenzie Winrotte 123 buoyed the squad.

I was especially proud of the freshmen trio, Sarah Youngs, Lauren Powell, and Olivia Waymouth for shaking off the nerves and playing their best all day. For all three girls this was their first 18 hole round of their life.

The girls are next in action Thursday at Pretty Lake vs LaPorte and Logansport starting at 5pm.
