Ancilla Looks Ahead to Next Opponent
DONALDSON, IN – The Ancilla College soccer team awaits today’s NJCAA Region XII quarterfinal action to determine their upcoming opponent to be played Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
The Chargers, coming in with a 15-3-1 record overall, are set to play Saturday November 1st at 2:00 p.m. in the second of two semi-final matches at Grand Haven High School in Michigan. Tonight’s 7:00 p.m. quarterfinal match-up, Cuyahoga CC taking on Cincinnati State Technical CC, will finalize the semi-final bracket for Saturday’s schedule.
Cuyahoga CC enters tonight’s competition with a 6-10-3 overall record, which includes two previous loses to Ancilla earlier in the season and two losses to Cincinnati State. Cincinnati State, who has split the two game series of the 2014 season the Chargers, enters tonight at a 7-10-1 mark.
Head coach Adam Hall sees all the potential in his team making a run within the tournament, “We are having a fantastic season, the program has come very far in such a short space of time. We know going into the tournament that we have beaten any of the opponents we face, but we have also lost to some of them as well. Hopefully we have learned from these experiences during the regular season, as we cannot afford to make the same mistakes twice. We know if we can perform to our abilities, we can win this tournament; I hope we can hit our potential.”
Lake Michigan College takes on Owens CC today in the first Quarterfinal match; the winner of this will advance to play Schoolcraft Saturday at noon. The NJCAA Region XII Championship game is scheduled for Sunday November 2nd at noon.
Ancilla College, part of The Center at Donaldson, offers 18 Associate’s Degree and eight athletic programs. Since 1937, the College has been a sponsored ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and is located two miles south of US 30 on Union Road near Plymouth, Indiana.
