PLYMOUTH, IN – For the second time this season, the Ancilla College volleyball team defeated Kalamazoo Valley Community College. In three hard fought sets, the Lady Chargers were victorious by a score of 25-23, 25-20, 25-18 and earned their fifth Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) conference win, bringing their record to 5-8 and 19-19 overall.

On the defensive side, Ancilla played solid at net. Smith had two block solos and block assists came from: Redinger (4), Grimm (2), Kinney (2), Samantha Albers (2), Kistler (1), and Gabby Castillo (1). Mackenzie White continued to do her job in the libero position and dished out fourteen Charger digs. Kistler added fourteen digs of her own, followed by Smith’s twelve.
“I was very proud of how the Lady Chargers came together tonight and played as a team on Sophomore Night,” began Coach Singleton. “They worked hard by putting up tough serves, winning every long point, and kept attacking. Along the way they talked and had fun. Every single one of them played hard tonight.”
The Lady Chargers will finish regular season play on the road against MCCAA opponent Kellogg Community College. Ancilla looks to defeat KCC for the second time this season on Tuesday, October 21, at 6:30 p.m.
