Rockies roll in 1st round of Sectionals with easy win over SB Washington
It might have been junior quarterback Jack Barron’s best performance yet in a Rockies uniform. In a option attack offense, making reads are key for your quarterback, and Barron looked like he was reading the Panther’s playbook as Plymouth defeated SB Washington 46-24 and now get ready for South Bend St. Joseph next Friday.
Barron carried the ball 23 times for 183 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also was 8 of 13 for 79 yards passing and also caught a 33-yard completion from wingback Justin Drudge. But the young mans highlight was his first score on a 77 yard brilliant run with just under three minutes left in the first.
The difference maker really came after the Rockies first score, when South Bend Washington fumbled on their next possession, then 16 seconds later, Cam Eveland finished off a 25 yard run into the end zone to put Plymouth ahead and take over momentum the rest of the game.
Plymouth comes home to the Rockpile this Friday night to face South Bend St. Joseph in Second round play.
