Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Zak Johnston, a member of the boys golf team at Oregon-Davis High School.

Zak led his team to a hair-raising 190-192 victory over Bremen, shooting a 39 on the tough Spring-o-Mint Course, the Lion’s home course. His effort included 2 birdies that made the difference for the Bobcats as they won their 7th dual meet of the season.

The veteran senior shot his season best 38 earlier in the week in a 165-194 win over Knox at the Hamlet Course. The back-to-back wins gave the Bobcats a 7-2 season record.

Zak, a 4-year letter winner in golf, was also a member of the Sectional Championship basketball team last winter.

Zak is the son of Greg and Tammy Johnston.
