Ancilla Announces New Cross Country Program and Names Pearison Head Coach

DONALDSON, IN – Ancilla College is excited to announce the start of a new Cross Country program for the 2016-17 school year and have named Brian Pearison head coach for the Chargers.

“We are thrilled to announce the addition of cross country for the 2016 school year and to welcome Brian Pearison to our coaching staff,” said Ancilla College Athletic Director Gene Reese. “We are excited to have someone with Brian’s coaching and recruiting experience to help drive our new cross country program in a positive direction.”

Starting a new cross country program, is not a new challenge for Pearison, who brings experience from a program that he started at Holy Cross College in 2012. During his time at Holy Cross, Pearison’s team competed in several races and were able to grab their first win at Goshen College, where they had the top two finishers.

A 1998 graduate of Jimtown High School, Pearison began his cross country running career at Niles High School where he was a varsity runner from his freshman through junior years. Pearison transferred to Jimtown High School for his senior year, where he finished third place in the conference during that season.

“I am very excited to be coaching cross country at Ancilla College,” remarked Pearison. “I think this is a great place to work and I look forward to building a power house cross country team. I want to thank Gene Reese for believing in me to lead this program. I would also like to thank my family for all their support over the many years I have been coaching.”

In addition to being named the head men’s and women’s cross country coach, Pearison will also serve as the Assistant Coach for the Ancilla College Men’s Basketball program.

Pearison currently resides in Elkhart with his wife Renee and children Austin (14) and Audrey (13).

“In my opinion, our 1,200 acre campus, featuring numerous wooded areas and Lake Gilbraith, will give Ancilla College one of the most beautiful cross country courses in the nation,” commented Reese.

Since 1937, the College has been a sponsored ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ. It is a small, private, liberal arts school in Donaldson, Indiana. It is located two miles south of U.S. 30 on Union Road near Plymouth, Indiana.
