Plymouth Lady Golfers with 4th place finish
The Plymouth girls golf team competed in the Rochester Invitational at Round Barn on Saturday. Today’s 4th place finish 379 was our 4th top 5 finish in 5 invitationals this season. Today’s 18 school field was our second largest to date. Attached full results.
The ladies we’re lead by senior Miranda Dunn’s 87. Randi’s putting down the stretch helped her secure back to back pars on her final two holes. She was able to 1 putt her final 4 holes down the stretch.
Senior Morgan Oberley continued her hot scoring from Thursday’s match firing a career best 88 today. Starting on 11 Morgan got off to a rough start on her opening hole par 5. She immediately bounced back carving out pars on the next two holes, pacing and reading her putts well. Morgan capped her turn off with a birdie on 18! Like a veteran Morgan finished her round strong with pars on 3 of final 4 holes.
I was most proud of Sophomore Jennah Nifong playing in her first Varsity match posting a career best 108. After a disaster opening hole on the Par 5 9th Jennah settled in, found her confidence, and worked herself around the back nine going out in a very solid 50. If not for her opening hole Jennah’s score threatened high 90’s, she really gained experience and confidence today!
Junior Lauren Kolter hit the ball well especially on the back nine to finish with a 96. Fellow classmate Katie Johnson also finished 108.
The ladies are gearing up for a busy week next week. Monday we host Bremen at PCC for a makeup from last week. Tuesday we travel to Wawasee for our opening NLC match of the season vs Elkhart Memorial and Wawasee. Wednesday we’re back at PCC for a dual NLC match vs Northridge.
