Charger winning streak comes to an end
The Charger men’s basketball team’s winning streak came to a halt Wednesday night, when they were defeated on the road by Lansing Community College, 85-76.
The Stars led the Chargers in the first half of the game by 16. At the return, the Chargers fought to close the gap, but were unable to pull ahead to capture the win. Ancilla was led by Andrenos Powell who put up 21 points for the Chargers. Travon Brackett added sixteen points and six rebounds to the team’s stats and Everett Norman contributed nine points.
“Lansing is a very good team,” said head coach Aaron Butcher. “We came out and played very tentative in the first half and our attention to detail wasn’t where it needed to be and because of that, we found ourselves down by sixteen at the half. Our guys did a good job of battling back in the second half to cut their lead to four with five minutes left, but we just couldn’t make the plays we needed to make to get over the hump.”
The Chargers will play home on Saturday against conference rivals, Lake Michigan College. Game Time is scheduled for 3:00p.m.
