Plymouth finishes strong vs Knox in final regular season win
The Plymouth Pilgrims beat Knox 11-1 in five innings on Monday at Bill Nixon Field after a six-run explosion in the third inning.
The Pilgrims scored in the third on a sacrifice fly by Jeremy Splix, an RBI single by Benji Nixon, a two-run single by Caleb Mikesell, an RBI double by Brayden Davidson, and an RBI single by Spencer Maecroft.
Maecroft went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for Plymouth Pilgrims Varsity.
Davidson had another impressive outing, this time against Knox ‘s lineup. Knox managed just three hits off of the Plymouth pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out four during his five innings of work.
Kolin Mann took the loss for Knox . He allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out four.
The game was never in doubt after the first, as the Pilgrims scored one run on an RBI double by Davidson.
Plymouth brought home one run in the second inning, and matched that run total in the fourth. In the second, Plymouth scored on an RBI single by Cam Dennie, scoring Nixon.
Plymouth answered Knox ‘s top inning with two runs of its own in the fifth. The Pilgrims scored on an RBI single by Ezra Winkle, an RBI single by Winkle, an RBI single by Dyllon Pavey, and an RBI single by Pavey.
