Ancilla Womens hooper’s win, Men lose

DONALDSON, IN – The Charger men’s basketball team lost to Lansing Community College on Saturday, 96-83, dropping their record to 14-3 overall and 4-2 in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association conference.
In the first half of the game, Ancilla fell behind by 26 points. In the second half, the Chargers worked to close the gap, but were unfortunately unsuccessful. Leading for Ancilla were sophomores Dylan Phair with 22 points, and Anderson McCoy with 21 points. Freshman Jair Rodgers added 12 points and DK Fox pulled down nine rebounds.
“I was proud of our fight in the second half. However, when you dig yourself a 26 point hole at halftime, it’s hard to overcome, especially against a good team like Lansing,” remarked head coach Aaron Butcher. “We didn’t come out and defend with the edge that we needed to in the first half. We have to have a more focused effort for 40 going forward.”
The Chargers will play home on Wednesday night against conference contenders, Glen Oaks Community College. Game time is set for 7:30p.m.
