Plymouth Girls Golf playing well despite split
The Plymouth girls golf team split a three-way match Thursday evening at Pretty Lake defeating visiting Logansport and falling to LaPorte. LaPorte’s Emily Wilmsen took home Medalist honors with a 44. The Slicers cut their way to two wins in large part to four scores in the 40’s.
Plymouth was led by Junior Brittney Klotz 53. Senior Jennah Nifong played well late carding a 54. The highlight of the night was the inspired and much-improved play of Sophomore Sarah Youngs 61. Sarah’s ball striking was solid tonight as she fired a season best; 10 shots off her previous mark! Senior Emily Cochern rounded out the scoring with a 59.
Noteworthy was the continued improvement of both Freshmen Olivia Horvath 66 and Grace Cooper 79. Tonight marked their second high school match and both improved 4 shots from last night!
Next up for the ladies is a trip to Kokomo where we battle several state ranked foes in the Western Invitational at Chippendale Golf Club.
