Ancilla has a new Women’s Basketball Head Coach
Ancilla College has named Jenarius Thurman as its Women’s Basketball Coach. Thurman has nine years of coaching experience behind him. He will also teach in the Sports Management program in addition to his coaching duties.
An Indianapolis native, Thurman has coaching experience as an assistant coach at Hartnell College and he assisted at Terre Haute South High School. He helped guide the Indianapolis Arlington Woods basketball team to their first championship appearance. He was a basketball manager at Indiana State while in college there.
“I am delighted for this opportunity and ready for the challenge, Thurman said. “I have every plan to keep this women’s basketball program at the top and maintain our dominance. My desire is to graduate students, increase attendance, fundraise and win basketball games.”
Thurman invites the community to come out and watch the Lady Chargers play.
A graduated from North Central High School in Indianapolis, Thurman received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University and his master’s degree from Ball State University.
Thurman inherits a team that went 26-7 last year, the best record in the program’s history. They won the NJCAA Region 12 Tournament and advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament were they finished 10th.
