Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete(s) of the Week 10-6-18
Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Co-Athletes of the Week for this week are Kate Collins, a member of the Girls Cross Country Team at Winamac High School and Dawson Patrick, a Member of the Football Team at Knox High School.
Kate ran her second best time of the year in winning the Hoosier North Athletic Conference championship on her home course. The Freshman runner turned in a time of 20:32, besting her next closest competitor by more than 52 seconds. This followed her first place finish in a triangular meet with Conference opponents Triton and LaVille earlier in the week.
Dawson set a Knox High School scoring record with 2 touchdowns in a 2-point loss to Triton in a Hoosier North contest. The 12 points gave him 254 points in his 4-year career surpassing Josh McLaughlin who ended his career in 1996 with 250 points. The veteran Senior has helped lead the Redskins to a 29-14 record during his career, their best 4-year run in school history.
Kate is the daughter of Jill and Adam Collins.
Dawson is the son of Dan Patrick.
Congratulations to Kate Collins of Winamac High School and Dawson Patrick of Knox High School our Tyler Roth/WKVI CO-Athletes of the Week.
