North Judson Enjoys Being Home!
The North Judson San Pierre Bluejays were playing host Thursday afternoon and into the evening, as the boys and girls cross country teams hosted Knox and Triton, while the Lady Jays Volleyball Team played host to Starke County rival, Oregon-Davis.
The Bluejay cross country teams came out ready to go from the start of their meet, as the Lady Jays came in first with Kennedy Baxter breaking the tape in 1st place, followed by Gabby Boyd in third, Megan Krzyzanowski in fifth, Hannah Chaffins in sixth, and Addie Harper in tenth. On the Boys side, Eric Materna came in 4th for the Jays, followed by Ty Schumacher in fifth.
Following the cross country meet, the North Judson Lady Bluejays played host to the Oregon-Davis Lady Bobcats in volleyball. The Lady Jays were able to defend their home turf as they came away with a 3-0 win over the ‘Cats. “I was really pleased with our passing in general” North Judson head coach Madi Fingerhut said. “I think it’s gotten a lot better as our games have progressed”.
Statistically, the Lady Jays had a lot of contributions from multiple individuals. Abby Chambers and Lilly Frasure each had 13 kills to lead North Judson, while Tabitha Pop added 31 assists, and Alexie Harper as well as Maggie Emery each had 3 aces.
