Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week 8-29-2020

Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Garrett Leman, a member of the football team at West Central High School.

Garrett led his team to their first win of the season with a big night rushing and passing from his quarterback position. The Trojans opened their Midwest Conference season as Leman rushed ten times for 119 yards and a touchdown. The 5’9 160lb Senior was nearly perfect in the passing department, completing 8-9 attempts for 88 yards and a touchdown, as the Trojans beat South Newton 34-20.

A three-sport athlete, Garrett also plays basketball and baseball for the Trojans and is active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is the son of Curt and Vallerie Leman, and will be featured on the Saturday Sportsline.

Garrett will receive a certificate suitable for framing, a history of the award, and a shirt commemorating his achievement. He will also be eligible for our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Year award next Spring which carries with it a beautiful plaque and a college scholarship compliments of WKVI and the family of Tyler Roth.
