Tyler Roth/WKVI Co-Athletes of the Week 4/17/2021

Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Co-Athletes of the Week for this week are Chloe Kraus, a member of the Girls Track Team at North Judson-San Pierre High School and Annika Smith, a member of the Softball Team at West Central High School.    

Chloe won every event in which she participated in 2 triangular meets while Annika led her team to 3 wins with unbelievable statistics in the field and at the plate. 

Chloe won the 100, 200 and long jump and was part of the victorious 4-by-100 relay team as the Lady Jays took on LaCrosse and Caston in one meet and Knox and Winamac in the second meet. Chloe, a Junior, qualified for the Regional in all 4 events and won them all in the Hoosier North Conference two years ago. 

Just a Freshman, Annika led her team to victories over LaCrosse, Rensselaer and Washington Township, batting .916 in the 3 games on 11-of-12 hitting which included 6 singles, 2 doubles and 3 Home Runs, the last a walk-off Grand Slam Homer that gave the Trojans the win over Washington Township via the 10-run rule.  In addition, she had 10 RBI’s in the 3 games and, playing short stop and third base, she was a perfect 7-for-7 on chances in the field. 

Chloe is the daughter of Marlene and Tom Kraus.  Annika is the daughter of Myka Warner and Ryan Smith.  

Congratulations to Chloe Kraus of North Judson-San Pierre High School and Annika Smith of West Central High School, our  Tyler Roth/WKVI  CO-Athletes of the Week. 

They’ll each receive a certificate suitable for framing, a history of the Award, and a T-shirt commemorating their achievement and will be future guests on the Saturday Sportsline. 

They’ll also be eligible for our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Year Award later this Spring which carries with it a beautiful plaque and a college scholarship, compliments of WKVI and the Family of Tyler Roth.
