Glenn’s Chrapliwy, Hannah & Judson’s Frasure Named All-State In Baseball
Three local players earned Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association first-team all-state honors.
Glenn’s Joe Chrapliwy and Brycen Hannah garnered the honor for Class 3A, and North Judson-San Pierre’s Quinton Frasure was named an all-stater in 2A.
IHSBCA pegged Chrapliwy one of three all-state outfielders, while Hannah was the selection at third base.
Frasure was one of two shortstops in 2A named all-state (joining Illiana Christian’s Isaac VanderWoude).
Chrapliwy and Hannah were quite the one-two punch for the 21-6 Falcons this past season.
Hannah led Glenn in hitting with a .561 average to go along with 40 RBI, 10 doubles and 17 steals. His on-base percentage was .637 and he slugged at an .893 clip. Hannah also had a pair of home runs.
In addition to playing third base, Hannah pitched.
He had a 1.78 ERA and a 4-1 regular-season record. In 35.1 innings, Hannah struck out 42 batters.
Like Hannah, Chrapliwy pitched, too.
He had a 5-1 record with 34 strikeouts in 29 1/3 innings of work.
At the plate, Chrapliwy hit .488, leading the Falcons in runs (36), hits (39) and triples (three). He had 28 RBI, 11 doubles, an on-base percentage of .539 and .700 slugging percentage.
The season Frasure had was a big reason the Bluejays went 21-8 overall, which included winning the Hoosier North Conference with a 12-2 record.
Frasure led his team with a batting average of .540. He also posted team-high honors in steals (25), runs (45), hits (54).
Plus, Frasure had 34 RBI, eight doubles and three triples to go along with his .586 on-base percentage, .710 slugging percentage and .750 fielding percentage.
All-state honorees were determined by ballots that were compiled via nominations submitted by member head coaches. Final results were determined by IHSBCA membership.
