Wrestlers Show Improvement at Art Kraft Open
RIVER GROVE, IL — Saturday morning, the Marian University Ancilla Wrestling Team attended the Art Kraft Open in River Grove, Illinois. Throughout the day, the Chargers showed marked improvement from earlier in the season.
Freshman Dalton Simmons reached the Semi-Finals in the 197-pound division before needing to default due to injury. He finished in 4th place in his weight class for his efforts.
Sophomore Bryan Chavero placed 5th in the 141-pound division, while Sophomore Reece Hamblen (157 pounds) and Freshman Dennis Weston (285 pounds) each placed 7th in their respective divisions. Additionally, Freshman Javier Garcia (165 pounds) notched his first collegiate win.
The Charger Wrestling Team will be back in action this Saturday, as they head to the MCCAA Dual Meet Championship at Muskegon Community College. The event begins at 11:00 a.m. ET.
