Local bowlers recognized at women’s championship tournament in Reno

Three Plymouth bowlers were recognized at the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Women’s Championship National Tournament in Reno, Nevada prior to the start of their team event June 17.
During this year’s national event, Christine (Chris) Huss received a plaque for her 25th appearance on the national tournament stage, while Kelly Einspahr and Nancy White were both recognized for attending 21 national tournament contests.
In addition to the team event (with first-year participant Anita Goodan), they bowled in the doubles and singles event June 18.

Huss, Einspahr and White currently bowl on a team at Quick’s Lanes in Plymouth and have traveled to national bowling tournaments in Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada, and other locations in New York, Kansas, North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Louisiana, and Michigan.
All three bowlers hold many years of experience in the sport.
Huss has bowled in Marshall County since 1983 and has held many positions with the Marshall County USBC Association, and league bowling. She served as secretary/treasurer for 17 years on the league level. Einspahr has been league bowling since 1982 and previously held a board position on the association level, and White has been bowling since 1980 and has held the position of Sergeant at Arms and others on the league level.

Huss and White have been inducted into the local Hall of Fame.
In 2023, the team that included Huss, Kelly Einspahr, White, and Lindsey Einspahr placed sixth during the National Women’s Championship Tournament in Las Vegas.
Goodan joined the Pin Pals team this year and received goodies for her first appearance at the national tournament, as well as a “high game” award.
Over 16,000 women bowl in the Women’s Championships each year.
