Ancilla wrestlers compete in Art Kraft Open

RIVER GROVE, IL — The Marian Ancilla Wrestling team traveled to Triton College in River Grove, Illinois, Saturday for the annual Art Kraft Open. This has been a regular event each season for Charger squads, and as seems to be the theme this year, there were ups and downs alike for the 2024-2025 Chargers.
Sophomore Dennis Weston split four matches in the heavyweight division while the freshmen still had tough times pulling out close matches.
“Our freshmen continue to improve, but we are waiting for them to finally turn that corner and pull out some wins in the tight matches,” said Head Coach Michael Jackson. “I think once each of them does, it will build confidence for them moving forward.”
The Charger Wrestling team is back in action one last time before January, as they head to Muskegon Community College this weekend for the MCCAA Duals. Action should begin around 11:00 a.m.
