INDIANAPOLIS — The Marian University Ancilla Wrestling team headed to Indianapolis Saturday morning to participate in the Little State Open at the University of Indianapolis.
There were 18 schools represented and the Charger wrestlers performed admirably against the stiffest competition they’ve seen all season.
Head Coach Michael Jackson was pleased with his guys’ efforts throughout the day.
“All four of our wrestlers who competed showed vast improvements and are getting better each day,” he said. “We are trying to approach each close match with a winning mentality, and when we are the underdog, we are trying to still compete and win every point we can.”
“We want to focus on the word ‘better’. Each day, each match, we want to be a little better than before and not focus necessarily on ‘perfect’ as much as just getting ‘better.'”
The Wrestlers have two more meets remaining before they break for the Holidays. This coming Saturday, they head to Triton College for the Art Kraft Open, and then the following Saturday, Dec. 21, they will attend the MCCAA Duals hosted by Muskegon Community College.
