Lady Pilgrims come from behind for win

GOSHEN — The Plymouth Lady Pilgrims traveled to Goshen for the first NLC matchup of the season and came away with a 44-41 win.
The first quarter proved to be a defensive battle with Goshen going into half leading 19-18.
Plymouth’s offense struggled in the third quarter, with Goshen stretching their lead to 12.
Everything started to click for the Lady Pilgrims in the fourth quarter, with a Lena Jones three, Chloe Horton three, Mady Sullivan two threes, and some great on-ball defense by Alana Allen and Sophie Miller.
Plymouth outscored Goshen 21-6 in the fourth quarter.
“It took a total team effort to get a conference win on the road,” said Plymouth coach Micaela Schalliol, “The Lady Pilgrims did a great job of staying locked in down 12 heading into the forth and focused on three possessions at a time, stop-score-stop. We are proud of their poise efforts.”

Plymouth dominated all four quarters. Chloe Horton, Olivia Warner, and Paige Frank were all hot from the three-point line.
Peyton Ellinger led with 12 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Ellinger had an outstanding game all around leading the Lady Pilgrims to victory.
Plymouth will be in action on the road once again as they take on Warsaw on Saturday.
