Lady Pilgrims take NLC loss

NAPPANEE — The Plymouth Lady Pilgrims traveled to Northwood for an NLC matchup, taking a 68-42 loss.
Plymouth was able to limit the touches for NorthWood star Claire Payne in the post and was successful for the first quarter.
The Lady Panthers then caught fire from the three-point line forcing Plymouth out of their zone defense, while the Lady Pilgrims were still struggling on the offensive end.
Lena Jones, Lydia Wray, and Chloe Horton helped the Lady Pilgrim offense in the second half by pushing the ball up the court and finding Horton early for good looks at the basket.
Horton connected on five triples with the aid of Jones’ assists.
Horton led in points with 26 and rebounds with 7. Jones added eight assists, and Wray contributed 6 points, two assists, and five rebounds.
The Plymouth JV took a win by a 35-19 score.
Lydia Wray led the way with 9 points, three assists, and three rebounds. Olivia Warner had eight points and Paige Frank had seven steals.
They are now 8-4 on the season.
Plymouth (7-5, 1-2) will be in action on Friday night against Knox in the Plymouth Holiday Tournament.
