Plymouth girls knock off Valley in OT

MENTONE — Plymouth’s Lady Pilgrims took a big win on the road on Thursday night defeating Tippecanoe Valley in overtime 50-46.
It has been four years since Plymouth has beaten the Lady Vikings.
Alana Allen was tasked with defending their best player for the majority of the game. She helped force the Vikings into 16 turnovers and 10 steals for the Lady Pilgrims.
Sophie Miller was solid from the free throw line, sinking 7 of 8 in and contributing 15 points and six rebounds. Lena Jones caught fire in the first half and finished the night with 17 points.
Lydia Wray had two huge “and one” finishes at the rim that were a big momentum shift in the game.
The Lady Pilgrims outscored Valley in the overtime 8-4, securing the win.
In additon to her 17 points Jones added five rebounds and four steals.
Plymouth is now 6-2 on the year and will open NLC play at Goshen on Saturday.
