Plymouth swim edged by Wawasee
SYRACUSE — Plymouth ended 2024 with a conference meet vs Wawasee. They had 21 best times on the day and the girls lost a nail-biter 93-90; much like losing in a last-second shot. The boys lost 124-56.
“I am proud of our athletes for their sportsmanship and competitive drive today,” said coach Haley Stegelmann, “Wawasee has some phenomenal college-bound swimmers, and we put up a great fight. Our scores were a total team effort, and I continue to be grateful for such honorable kids. We are looking forward to Christmas and some time to improve.”
Taking firsts for Plymouth were Carmen Garcia in diving, Joseph Stauffer in the breaststroke, and Taylor Schadek in the backstroke.
Plymouth’s girls are 7-4 overall and the boys are 3-5.
Next up for the team is the diving invitational on Saturday at Warsaw. The next swim meet will be on Jan. 9 at home against New Prairie.
