Delp headed to Bethel

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth infielder Trey Delp has committed to continue his baseball and academic career at Bethel University in Mishawaka.
Trey is the son of Michael and Heather Delp. His sister Taylor Delp is a member of the Bethel volleyball team. Trey has competed in tennis in fall and is currently in basketball season. He is a member of NHS, FCA, and Pep Club.
Trey is undecided on his major at this time. Trey chose Bethel because of the environment of the campus and thought it would be the best choice for him.
“Since his days on the 8u diamond, Trey has had this drive to compete,” said Plymouth baseball coach Ryan Wolfe. “I have had the privilege of watching that drive to compete develop along with the skills needed to become a great baseball player. He has worked hard both on and off the field, and that is why he is in a position to continue his playing career. I’m happy to have had the opportunity to coach him and I look forward to not just a great senior season with his teammates here at PHS but watching him compete for the Pilots.”
“As a 4-year letterman and 3-year Varsity starter, Trey has been a great asset and contributor to the PHS Boys Tennis Team over the last four years,” said PHS tennis coach Brad Haeck. “His senior season culminated in All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-State honors as a doubles player this past fall.”
“Trey is a good leader and competitor who expects a lot out of both himself and his teammates. He works hard and has an inner drive to get better every day,” he said. “One of the highlights of our 2024 Boys Tennis Season was seeing Trey and partner Trenton Van Duyne use toughness, grit, and determination to win the NLC #1 Doubles Championship in straight sets over an All-State Team from Warsaw. I know Trey has a passion for baseball, and I’m excited to follow his success at the next level at Bethel next year.”
“Trey has been awesome to coach in my first season here,” said Plymouth head basketball coach Greg Miller. “His daily process and effort is something that I want our future Pilgrims to see and mimic. Trey is toughness personified. He battles each and every day and each and every possession. I have no doubt he will be successful at Bethel, and I look forward to following his baseball career there.”
