Stauffer leads Plymouth boys at NLC meet

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth scored 150 points on their way to a 6th-place finish at Saturday’s boys NLC Championship meet. In all 14 of the 17 races on the championship, Saturday were best times for the Plymouth swimmers. The high point finish was the 3rd place finish by Joseph Stauffer in the 100 breaststroke as well as the three relays, which all placed in championship finals.

200 Medley Relay – 5th: A. Landis, J. Stauffer, F. Kallenberg, G. Metsker – 28 points
200 Free Relay – 6th: A. Faulstich, R. Ye, L. Sickmiller, K. Rumpler – 26 points
400 Free Relay – 6th: G. Metsker, M. Finney, F. Kallenberg, J. Stauffer – 26 points

Joseph Stauffer – 50 Free, 6th; 100 Breastroke, 3rd;
*Top Individual Scorer: 29 points, All-Conference
1st time in several years to get an automatic all-conference bid.

Best Times from the Meet: 37 out of 44 races over the meet.
“Saying we are proud of how our boys competed is an understatement,” said Plymouth coach Halety Stegelmann. “Everyone did well. They peaked at the right time, and all walked away with a best time in at least one race. Our conference is very competitive and our boys showed up well. This gives us great momentum in our last push before Sectionals.”
