Lions take a win for the INSC title

BREMEN — Bremen defeated Jimtown at home Friday night, 61-54, to claim the INSC conference championship. There were many individual standout performances, but a cohesive team effort on both ends was needed to defeat a very talented and tough Jimtown team, and the Lions achieved just that.
Bremen stretched out leads in the 2nd and 3rd periods, only to have them erased by the Jimmies, and Bremen trailed at the end of 3 quarters 43-41. But a strong fourth quarter proved to be the difference, and Bremen held on to win. Maddux Hickman and Hartley Mitole had outstanding nights on the defensive end, playing their assignments extremely well.
Chase Devine was outstanding once again, with a game-high 31 points. Devine scored 14 in the fourth quarter, including going 8-8 from the foul line. Riley Tener and Bryce Miller got several big buckets at the rim, with 10 points and 9 points, respectively.
Bremen moves to 18-1 on the season and finishes conference play undefeated. The Lions are on the road for 2 games next week, at Fairfield and Concord.
Scoring for Bremen:
Chase Devine 31
Riley Tener 10
Bryce Miller 9
Hartley Mitole 7
Maddux Hickman 2
Jack Wildauer 2
