Lady Pilgrims Volleyball made an impression despite Championship loss to Penn

The Plymouth Pilgrim Volleyball team battled Penn to the wire in the championship game of the South Bend Clay sectional before losing in five games.  The Pilgrims had five match points in the fifth and deciding game but Penn battled back each time and won game five 19-17.

Plymouth’s Libby Portteus finished the game with 14 kills & 2 blocks.  Followed by McKenzie Sheets with 12 kills.  Haley Harrell had 39 assists, plus, 30 digs.  Younger sister Ashley Harrell had a couple of Aces & 29 digs.

Plymouth defeated Clay in the morning session in 3 straight sets.  Portteus & Cassie Quissel each had 7 kills in that game.  Hunter Stevens had 4 blocks defensively.

The Pilgrims finished the 2014 campaign with an overall record of 24-12.
