Ancilla Men’s Golf Places Third at Home Fall Invitational

PLYMOUTH, IN – The Ancilla College men’s golf team placed third on Friday, September 4th, 2015, at their home fall invitational against Muskegon Community College and Jackson College.

The Fall Invitational was held at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana. The Swan Lake black course is a par 72 course that stretches 6,481 yards and is a slope 126.

Ancilla rallied a team score of 363 for the day, 75 over par, finishing behind Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) contenders Jackson College who placed second with a team score of 318 and Muskegon Community College who led the day with a team score of 316, 28 over par.

Charger freshman Dakota Robertson led Ancilla by tying for 9th place and shooting an 84, making him 10 shots behind invitational co-champions Connor Phelps from Muskegon Community College and Brock Spink from Jackson College. Andrew Allen and Eduardo Falcon, tied for 14th place for Ancilla with an 89 for the day.

“I was very impressed on how well Dakota Robertson played, he has made great strides since he has arrived on campus,” remarked Coach Marc Green. “Overall, we have a lot of room for improvement, knowing this team they will put the time and work in to make themselves better.”

The Chargers will be on the road at the Bethel College Invitational on Friday, September 11th, 2015 at the Blackthorn Golf Club.

Ancilla College, part of The Center at Donaldson, offers 18 Associate’s Degree and 13 athletic programs. Since 1937, the college has been a sponsored ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and is located two miles south of US 30 on Union Road near Plymouth, Indiana.
