Lady Chargers on Seven Game Winning Streak
PLYMOUTH, IN – The Lady Chargers volleyball team have improved their record to 7-4 over the weekend with three wins at the Grace College Volleyball Tournament in Winona Lake.
The Chargers beat Indiana Tech JV 25-14, 25-14, 25-14, they then defeated conference foe Lake Michigan College 25-22, 25-16, 25-17 and ended the day with a win over Grace College JV 25-17, 25-13, 25-23.
Coach Singleton commented, “I am excited that this team is coming together and playing some good volleyball, we are in a good place to open the conference season.”
The Lady Chargers had another balanced attack with Jill Brown from Elkhart Memorial leading the way with 28 kills on the day. Sophia Smith and Samantha Brenneman each added 18 apiece, Samantha Albers had 15 and Victoria Bush added 14 kills. Jackie Friel led in the assist department with 50 followed by Maddie Price’s 26. Friel was also second in digs for the weekend with 34.
Natalee Walter went 36 for 37 in serve receive and dug up 53 balls on the defensive side. Brenneman led in aces with seven.
The Lady Chargers are on the road Tuesday night against Lake Michigan College in their MCCAA Conference Opener.
Ancilla College, part of The Center at Donaldson, offers 18 Associate’s Degree and 14 athletic programs. Since 1937, the college has been a sponsored ministry of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and is located two miles south of US 30 on Union Road near Plymouth, Indiana.
