Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week 8-17-19
Megan Kobelt
Our first Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the week for the 2019-20 season is Megan Kobelt, a member of the Girls Golf Team at John Glenn High School.
Megan helped get her team off to a good start in the tough Northern Indiana Conference with consistent rounds the first two meets.
She tied for medalist with teammate Abby Machnic, shooting a 46 on the Eberhart Course as the Falcons shot a 196 as a team in beating Elkhart Central and Mishawaka. Two nights later, the Sophomore shot a 43 as the Falcons tied South Bend Adams at 199, behind Top 10 ranked Penn, which shot a team 157.
Megan is in her second year as a #1 or #2 player for the Falcons who are expecting an outstanding season after losing only 1 player off of last year’s Regional Qualifying Team.
Megan is the daughter of Clay and Roxann Kobelt and will be featured next week here on the “Saturday Sportsline”.

Megan will receive a certificate suitable for framing, a history of the award and a T-Shirt commemorating her achievement. She’ll also be eligible for our “Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Year “ award next Spring which carries with it a beautiful plaque and a college scholarship, compliments of WKVI and the Family of Tyler Roth.
