Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete Of The Week for 2-1-2020
Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Will Larkin, a member of the Boys Basketball Team at Winamac Community High School. Will set a new school record for a single game as he poured in 45 points to lead his team to a 90-39 win over cross-county rival West Central.
The 6’0 Senior signaled that it was going to be a special night, as he started off scoring 18 of his team’s 25 points in the first quarter and had 30 by halftime. The new record surpassed the 44 point performance of the Warriors’ all-time leading scorer, and Will’s Uncle, Dave Pugh in 1991.
A four year Varsity basketball performer, Will also led the Warriors Golf Team to a Regional appearance as a Junior, shooting a 78 to lead the team to a third place finish in the Logansport Sectional.
Will is the son of Brent Larkin and Emily Haschel.
Congratulations to Will Larkin of Winamac High School, our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week!
Will will receive a certificate suitable for framing, a history of the award, a t-shirt commemorating his achievement and a free pizza, compliments of Momma’s Pizzeria in Downtown Knox. He will also be a future guest on the Saturday Sportsline.
He will also be eligible for our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Year Award next Spring, which carries with it a beautiful plaque and a college scholarship compliments of WKVI, and the family of Tyler Roth.
