Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week 1-30-2021
Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Jalen King, a member of the Boys Basketball Team at Culver Community High School.
Jalen led his team to their biggest win of the year under new Head Coach Kyle Evens, when he hit a three-point shot from deep in the corner with just two seconds remaining to give the Cavaliers a one-point win over LaVille in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference matchup! The 6’0 Junior led his team in scoring with fifteen points as the Cavaliers came from a five-point deficit at the end of the third quarter to win their fifth game of the year.
In addition to leading his team in scoring, Jalen also logged six rebounds, three steals, and two blocked shots in an upset win that Coach Evans labelled a “program changing victory” for the Cavaliers.
Jalen is the son of Cherri Riale. Congratulations to Jalen King of Culver Community High School, our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week!
Jalen will receive a certificate suitable for framing, a history of the award, and a t-shirt commemorating his achievement. He will also be a future guest on the Saturday Sportsline. He will also be eligible for our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Year award next Spring, which carries with it a beautiful plaque and a college scholarship compliments of WKVI and the family of Tyler Roth!
