Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week 5/1/21

Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Cecilia Delinski, a member of the Girls Track Team at John Glenn High School.

Cecilia is unbeaten in the hurdle events so far this season as she has been a 4-event leader for the Lady Falcons throughout the year, including dominating the hurdles against Elkhart High School this week while also winning the long jump against the much bigger school.  In addition to winning every meet in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles, only one time has she finished in a place other than first. She has also run a leg of the 4X4 relay, including a 1:04 split in the 4X4.   

As a sophomore Cecilia set the school record in the 300 meter hurdles while qualifying for the State.  

A team leader, she has been voted a Team Captain for 3 years, and, as a student leader, she has been President of her Class and involved in the Chinese Club, Art Club, Cheerleading, Theater, Anti-bully Club, Varsity Club and Falcon Fury, in addition to be a member of the Volleyball Team. 

Cecilia is the daughter of Alan and Teresa Delinski.

Cecilia will receive a certificate suitable for framing, a history of the Award, and a T-shirt commemorating her achievement and she’ll also be a future guest on the Saturday Sportsline. 

Cecilia will also be eligible for our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Year Award later this Spring which carries with it a beautiful plaque and a college scholarship, compliments of WKVI and the Family of Tyler Roth.
