Plymouth’s Salazar Earns All-American Honors at 2023 NCAA Division III Championships
NORTH MANCHESTER, IN (05/31/2023) – Enrique Salazar of Plymouth, Ind., brought home All-American honors from the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a 5th place finish in the men’s 10,000m run on Thursday May 25 at the Polisseni Track & Field Complex.
The Plymouth High School graduate crossed the finish line in a time of 29:12.93 to claim 5th place and become Manchester University’s first outdoor track and field All-American since 2015. His time in the 10,000m breaks the Manchester school record and is a new Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) record.
The senior distance runner completes an outstanding 2023 outdoor campaign with the All-American award. Salazar began the 2023 outdoor season with a new PR and school record in the 10,000m run at the WashU Distance Carnival, finishing the event in third place in a time of 29:28.55, ranking second in the Great Lakes Region to earn USTFCCCA All-Region honors. He was then named HCAC Male Distance Athlete of the Year after earning three event wins in the 1500m, the 5,000m run, and the 10,000m run at the 2023 HCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. This season, Salazar also established three school records in the 5,000m and 1,500m.
He graduated on May 20 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminology.
