Jimenez named to head Plymouth boys soccer

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth High School announced the appointment of Jesus Jimenez as Varsity Boys Soccer Coach, after approval of the Plymouth School Board on Monday.

Jimenez brings valuable experience as part of the staff and community along with a desire to build the success of Plymouth Rockies Soccer into the future.
Coach Jimenez attended Indiana University-South Bend and will graduate this May. While there he attained a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Studies Education.
Jesus is a PHS graduate of 2018 and played soccer while at PHS, which included a Sectional title in his tenure and All-District recognition. He was captain of that team leading them with 13 goals, seven assists, and 33 points on the season.
Coach Jimenez has extensive coaching experience. He served as the JV Boys Soccer coach at PHS for 4 years and spent this past season as the varsity assistant coach. Jesus’s parents Adriana Garcia and Jesus Jimenez along with his brother Mauricio are excited to see Jesus lead the Rockies program.
“I’m looking forward to growing the soccer community in Plymouth,” said Jimenez. “Building our culture of Rockies soccer, and of course winning trophies.”
“We posted this position statewide and felt we found the best candidate to unite our soccer program and lead the team to future success,” said Plymouth Athletic Director Josh Troyer. “Coach Jimenez has a great plan for PHS soccer and is passionate being a former PHS graduate himself.”

Jimenez takes over for Grant Masson 55-43 in six years. His 2020 team was 17-1-1 won the NLC title with a perfect 7-0 record, were sectional champs, and were rated #6 in class 3A.
