PHS splits

LAPORTE – Plymouth’s girls golf team finished second at a three-team match Wednesday. Noelle Hutchings’ 46 was the second-best score overall. The Lady Pilgrims will join 18 other teams at the Warsaw Invitational Saturday.

Volleyball

Plymouth falls in four

MENTONE — Plymouth’s volleyball team fought to four sets but fell to Tippecanoe Valley by scores of 223-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-20.

“Valley served well which stopped us from being able to run an effective offense,” said Plymouth coach Shauna Ellinger. “We started off slower than I would have preferred and never really found our footing at any point in the match. Despite that, the scores were tight and I’m proud of how the girls continued to fight through.”

Haylee Busse had 20 digs and seven kills. Olivia Ringer added 28 digs, Sophie Miller 13 kills, Marly Christy had 38 assists and Natalie Sheely had three service aces.

Culver sweeps Caston

CULVER — Culver’s Lady Cav’s took a 3-0 win over Caston by scores of 25-20, 25-13, 25-10.

Brynn Berndt had 15 kills to go with three service aces and seven digs. Ashley Pugh had 24 assists and five digs to pace Culver.

Triton shuts out Knox

KNOX — Triton Boys Tennis team traveled to Knox and came away with a victory 5-0.

Bremen shut out by Fairfield

BREMEN — The Lions lost to an excellent Fairfield team 5-0 on Thursday evening at DeSantis Courts.  

Bremen’s record stands at 0-2.

Freshman football

Plymouth frosh fall to Concord

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth’s freshman dropped their home opener to Concord by a 31-6 final.

Plymouth got on the board first but couldn’t get on the board again the rest of the night. 

The Rockies only score came from an 80-yard touchdown run by Christian Cruz-Mahler who added an interception, and a forced fumble.

Plymouth is 0-1 and will be in action against St. Joe on Thursday Aug. 29.
